Emily's Race for Life

I'm again taking part in the Race for Life 5k in Peterborough Sunday 30 June 2019 to raise money and save lives. Too many people are affected by cancer. Every second person is diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every £1 donated makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. I have known too many people to lose their fight against cancer in recent years, including my Grandad and my very best friend, Samantha. Losing someone you love is never a pleasant experience and certainly not something you can ever really 'get over'. When someone is older, it can seem more acceptable, but when someone as young as 29 years of age is taken from this world, it's just cruel and unfathomable. There is an empty space in the hearts and minds of the many who loved you, Samantha. But, no-one more so than your children and your doting mum. Sam, your memory lives on in all of us and I can only hope that the money raised during this event is able to further the research into beating this devastating disease. Thoughts and love to all those currently fighting, the winners who are surviving and to the ones we miss and remember every day.
