My Story

In summer last year my husband was given the terrible news that he had cancer. It is hard to hear it and even harder to say it, we thought our live was over and how would we ever come to terms with it. After a hard 6 months and then radiotherapy he was scheduled for an operation for removal of the tumour. At the time we thought this was a procedure that is run of mill for the surgeons and would be an easy operation. Little did we know over the next 5 weeks he would end up having 3 life saving surgeries, a stint in intensive care fighting for his life, to finally being told the news that it was not a standard cancer but a rare aggressive cancer tumour. The type of tumour that only 0.025% of people are diagnosed with. He is currently going through chemotherapy and we are praying for the all clear so we can start our lives again with a new normal.
