My Story
Most of us have been directly or indirectly affected by cancer and are aware of the devastating consequences of this disease. This event is inspired by one of my clients, and this is her story: Six years ago, when I was 30 and my son had just turned one, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I went through a tough year of treatment and slowly life returned to normal. Unfortunately, a year ago I found out it was back, in my bones and liver and spreading. This means it’s incurable . . . . at the moment! I am on a new treatment and doing SO well that I’m now enjoying a new hobby – Ellie’s yoga classes! My hope is that more treatments can be found for the thousands of other cancer patients, many of whom aren’t as lucky as I have been. Cancer Research UK is the only charity that researches prevention, detection and treatment for ALL types of cancer and it only exists thanks to the support of donors like you. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour.
