My Story

In May I will be taking on a 10k run to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of my wonderful mum🩷 She has recently passed away after a short, incredibly brave battle with pancreatic cancer after being diagnosed just before Christmas. My mum truly was one of a kind and fought till the very end with so much strength and positivity. She lit up every room she walked into, has the biggest personality and was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be incredibly missed. Watching someone you love face cancer is heartbreaking and it changes your perspective on what really matters. Whilst trying to turn the pain into something positive, I have challenged myself to a 10k run in which this run is my way of raising awareness and supporting an incredible cause that will help others with their battles. Any money raised will go straight to the research of pancreatic cancer and discovering ways to prevent, detect and treat it. I’m not a runner, and I don’t enjoy running at all, so this would be a challenge for me both physically and mentally. However, any discomfort will feel small compared to what so many people face every day because of cancer. When I told my mum I wanted to do this, she loved the idea and encouraged me which makes this that much more meaningful to me🩷 I’ll be running the Cancer Research UK 10k in Portsmouth with my friend helping me along the way.
