In 2007 my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Being 11 years old and still at school, I had no idea how to deal with what had happened to our family. All I knew is that she had to get better, and after a very long and painful journey, thankfully my mom made a full recovery and was given the 5 year all clear in 2012. Sadly, two years ago my beautiful god mother and my moms best friend, passed away from cancer after a long period of suffering. She was an incredible woman who dedicated all of her time after her diagnosis to prolonging her life, she was so inspiring and truly never gave up hope. This is for my mom, Dawn, and for all others who have suffered or who know somebody who has. x
