My Story
About this event: Join us at East Mains Baptist Church on 22nd March 2019 for a Family 2.5km or a 5km walk around the East Kilbride followed by a Candle of Hope ceremony to remember those who are fighting cancer or who are no longer with us. On the day: Registration opens at 6pm where you can pick up your Cancer Research UK t-shirt and candle bag for the Candle of Hope Ceremony. The 5km walk starts at 6.30pm followed by the the 2.5km walk at 6.40pm, the Candle of Hope Ceremony will begin at 8.15pm. Each participant is invited to place a decorated Candle Bag in memory of someone they love who has been affected by cancer. Hot & cold drinks will be available as well as stalls and entertainment. Registration for adults is £10, £5 for 12-16 year olds and under 12s are free. Participants are asked to try and raise a minimum of £50 each to fund ground-breaking research for Cancer Research UK. Registration includes a free Cancer Research UK t-shirt and a candle bag for the Candle of Hope Ceremony. All children under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. This walk is organised by the Relay For Life East Kilbride Committee and all money raised will be used to fund ground-breaking research for Cancer Research UK.
