Everyone has a cancer story. We all know someone who has had, is fighting or has lost their fight with Cancer. I’ve lost people from cancer and I have family who have beaten cancer. But my dad is a special case (for many reasons) but here because he’s beaten cancer twice. I was 14 when my dad was first diagnosed with cancer, changing my whole family’s world. My dad was on a drug trial funded by Cancer Research UK after his first operation, which is the only reason why his recurrence was found so early. It’s now 4 years since my dads recurrence. And he’s as annoying as ever and I would never change a thing. Not everyone has a story like my family’s. I will always be grateful for Cancer Research UK, because of their work I still have my dad, and he’s still getting regular follow up. I figure if my dad can beat cancer twice and sepsis I can walk 10km 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
