Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page. The likelihood of a person getting cancer is now 1 in 2 people. The money I hope to raise will help fund life-saving research. Firstly, I never got to meet my grandma due to her sadly passing away to cancer. Recently, it has been brought close to home again as my bestfriend and housemates mum has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She is one of the most amazing, caring and selfless people that I have been lucky to meet. These are the reasons that I will be running 150 miles in 30 days from Monday 11th January to raise some money for this incredible cause and keep spirits high. In the current circumstances of the pandemic, cancer and similar charities will be suffering due to reduced donations and capabilities of fundraising. I know for many, cancer will have affected yourself or someone very close to you. Understandably, this is a tough time for all and money may be short right now but any donation would be hugely appreciated. Thank you! Ellie x
CAUSE
Ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer in UK women, with more than 130 women every week told that they have the disease. It is often not diagnosed until it has spread, making it harder to treat. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to detect ovarian cancer earlier and find better treatments.
