My Story
I spend a lot of time running. Long trails, muddy hills, early mornings, and races that sometimes feel a bit unreasonable when the alarm goes off. Running started as a personal challenge. Over time it became something I genuinely enjoy. It is simple, it clears the head, and it occasionally reminds me that humans are surprisingly stubborn creatures. Alongside this, my professional life revolves around cancer research. Every day I work with researchers, clinicians, and patients who are trying to understand cancer better and develop new treatments. Progress in cancer research rarely comes from one big breakthrough. More often it comes from thousands of small steps, careful experiments, and people working together over many years. In many ways, it is not so different from running long distances. You move forward gradually. Some days feel easy. Some days feel brutal. Progress is slow but meaningful. I decided to connect these two parts of my life. This page is a simple way for anyone who wishes to turn a few of those running miles into support for cancer research. There is no fixed target and no deadline. The page stays open as the miles accumulate over time. Some runs will be short, others will be long trail races through mountains, mud, and questionable life decisions. If you would like to support the work being done by Cancer Research UK, you can donate here. Every contribution helps researchers continue the steady work of understanding cancer and developing better ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat it. If not, cheering from the sidelines is also very welcome. Either way, the miles will keep coming.
