My Story

Inspired by the fundraing work of Michelle and Stuart Collier, The Watkinson's wanted to do our bit in 2022 by raising some money for a charity that has special meaning to us all. George wanted us to do the 2 mile a day challenge so we are! We will be running 56 miles in February to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. Each run, Ed and Gill with both be doing the full 56 miles each and when possible will be joined by at least one of our boys; Harry, George or Louis. Between the boys they will be aiming to also do 56 miles in total. 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. All of us can support the research that will beat it. Our work has helped double cancer survival in the UK in the last 50 years. Despite this incredible progress, there’s more to be done. Nearly 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. Help us carry out world-class research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer.
