My Story
Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to visit my Giving Page. 🌟 The Challenge: More Than Just Push-Ups This November, I'm not just doing push-ups for fitness; I’m doing 100 push-ups daily to stand up to cancer. This challenge is a test of physical and emotional strength and is deeply personal. 👨👩👧👦 A Cause Close to My Heart Imagine watching your parents go through cancer treatment, feeling the helplessness of each hospital visit and the hope accompanying each milestone in their recovery. My mum recently fought off bowel cancer, and my dad has been battling MDS. Cancer doesn't just affect the person diagnosed—it ripples through entire families, mine included. 💔 The Emotional Toll Each push-up I do represents a moment of struggle that someone with cancer faces. It symbolises the emotional and physical challenges that not only the patients endure but also their loved ones. It's a challenge that echoes the bigger battles fought daily within the walls of hospitals and homes. 🎉 A November to Remember As I approach my 50th birthday and prepare to welcome my first grandchild, I'm struck by the fleeting nature of time and the immeasurable value of each day. These joyful milestones remind me of life's fragility and fuel my resolve to make a tangible difference. My deepest hope is that by the time my new grandchild reaches the age to become a grandparent, we will have succeeded in eliminating cancer once and for all. It's a vision that makes every push-up, every pound raised, and every moment of this challenge profoundly meaningful. 🤝 Stand with Me Cancer is happening right now, and there's no time to lose. I invite you to stand with me, to experience this challenge vicariously, and to contribute what you can to fund the research that aims to end the suffering caused by cancer. Please donate to my page today. Let's bring forward the day when all cancers are cured so others don't have to experience the pain and loss that many families, like mine, have endured.
