2019 Manchester Half Marathon
Sun 13 Oct 2019 - Sun 13 Oct 2019
I have just completed my master’s degree in physics and graduated from the University of Manchester. A large part of my final year was spent working on a project within the radiotherapy related research group at the Christie hospital. This involved studying the motion of abdominal and pancreatic tumours and developing motion maps for clinical use in radiotherapy. Medical physics is a very enjoyable and fulfilling area to work within and I am going to continue to perform my doctoral research with CRUK over the next four years. My research will be based in the radiotherapy team at the Christie where I will be designing machine learning algorithms to analyse patient motion and improve the accuracy of clinical radiotherapy. Having seen first-hand the impact CRUK has in pioneering research, I wanted to get involved in fundraising for the charity myself and am running the Manchester Half-Marathon in October. Thank you for your generosity!
