Running for Grandad

My Story

I have set up a fundraiser for my grandad who has been diagnosed with cancer. All the money raised will go to Cancer research Uk. I will be running 5k in May later this year for my grandad. Grandad has been a huge inspiration to me , he taught me how to tie my shoe laces when I was younger and now I want to help teach my younger brothers how to tie their shoe laces. I always loved playing football with grandad and talking to him about football. He always loved talking to me about Burnley football club and how well they are doing in the league. My grandad would always be there for me and he would also help my grandma. My grandad loved dogs and he loved taking them out on long walks. He always used to say to me your getting famous Dylan everytime I told him I was in the newspaper or I had been on the Tv. He would celebrate my achievements and I’m so thankful for everything he has done for me. I will always love him and I will continue to support my grandma who I also love very much. My Grandad had a lovely life , he had many great moments and memories. Drinks, laughs, talking about football. Grandad most of all loved flying pigeons, he won many races , he would train them during the week and then he would race them at the weekend. He would let me take one home sometimes I came to visit and I would realise it in Scotland and it would fly back to him hopefully. I couldn’t wish for a better grandad. Grandad told me to keep doing what I’m doing and keep being strong. Every time I came to visit I would ask him to play pool with me. It would be a great contest as it would be very close who would win, sometimes I would only need to pot one more but grandad would complete the comeback and win. It can be upsetting but I know all my family are in this together. Do you want to join me in making a difference?
