Duncan's Virtual Relay 2020

I am part of the Cancer Research UK Drug Discovery Unit at Newcastle University where we carry out exciting research aimed at finding treatments for cancers and our magnificent labs would not be there without funding from CRUK. The coronavirus pandemic has cast a huge shadow over everyone, but will have a huge impact on charities that depend on charitable events such as Race for Life. CRUK is already anticipating a huge deficit because of this crisis. However, cancer is not going to disappear and helping charities such as CRUK is more important now than ever. As a group and with the help of our families, we are participating in a Virtual Race for Life at Home. Collectively, over the coming week, we plan to run/ride/cycle/dance our way to 1000 miles... That's the equivalent of a circuit of all the CRUK Drug Discovery Units. We hope that our activity will raise awareness of the new fundraising activities and that people will get behind us not only by donating, but also by taking on their own Race for Life at Home challenges. With no entry fee, people might choose to twerk, limbo, star jump, squat, skip, dance, or come up with their own novel way of taking part and share it with friends.
