Jurassic Coast Half Marathon

My Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Page. Were colleagues from Dorchester Orthodontic Clinic and were partaking in the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike Half Marathon on June 21st 2025. Our motivation for this hike is because we have colleagues within the team currently suffering from cancer and undergoing treatment. Nothing is harder than watching your team mate suffer and not being able to help. So we thought, seeing as our colleagues are going through one of the toughest moments in their lives, we want to push ourselves to do something challenging to show them, they are not alone. We would love for you to donate however much you can to this cause and help support our team in reaching our £1000 goal. Please share our page! Thankyou for supporting us and our colleagues on this journey.

CAUSE

Women's cancers

Cancers that start in the female reproductive system are called gynaecological cancer. This includes cervical, ovarian, vaginal, vulval and womb cancer. These cancer types can affect women, some transgender men and non-binary people assigned female at birth. At Cancer Research UK we’re driving research forward for gynaecological cancers. For example, our research led to the development of the HPV vaccine, which is expected to prevent almost 90% of cervical cancers in the UK. But we still need to do more so that more people survive their disease. With your support, we can invest in life-saving research that will allow people to live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
