My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This September I’ll be taking part in the Great North Run and have chosen to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Cancer is something that has affected all of us in one way or another, whether personally or through somebody we know and care about. It’s a disease that touches so many families and changes lives forever, including my own. I have chosen to support Cancer Research UK because the work they do is making a real difference. Thanks to the incredible research, treatments, and support funded by this charity, more and more people are surviving cancer every year. Their work gives hope to millions of people and their families. Taking on the Great North Run will be a huge personal challenge, but knowing I’m running for such an important cause will keep me motivated every step of the way. Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much and will help support life-saving research and bring us closer to a world where more people survive cancer. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
