Joanne Smyth
My Story
I don’t class myself as a runner but have decided to challenge myself with a 10k . I’m doing this in memory of my sister Joanne Smyth who passed away in 2015 from breast cancer at the age of 44. She dealt with the disease like a true super hero for 8 years and this was down to her fantastic spirit but also the advances in medical science and research for cancer that allowed us to have her with us for longer .

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
