Diana's Race for Life
Brighton 5k 2018

Diagnosed with cancer just before Xmas, I want to get over that finish line surrounded by my team.
I was diagnosed with cancer just before Christmas 2017 and was told that 2018 would need to be my beating cancer year. I'm one of the lucky ones. I had surgery in January, I'm currently having chemotherapy through to May, followed by radiotherapy in June and I'd like this race to mark the end of my cancer treatment journey. The medical care I have received has been first class and I have been overwhelmed by the incredible support from family and friends. I have my own private army cheering me on and they have been here with me every step of the way. They have singularly and collectively made this so much more bearable and I love every single one of you. I have a vision of getting over that finish line surrounded by as many of my amazing friends as can make it. I want that photo finish of us all, dressed in pink, arms raised in the air. But let's remember not everyone is as lucky as I have been. Cancer is happening right now, so let's do this Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
