My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my donate in memory page for Derek. Cancer Research scientists and doctors have contributed to most of the world's top cancer drugs including Cetuximab which only certain people with bowel cancer can benefit from depending on a certain gene of the cancer cells. Derek was lucky enough to have been a perfect match to be able to be treated with it. Cetuximab is a type of targeted cancer drug used as a treatment for advanced bowel cancer and it helped him live longer than what was expected. This is the reason we have chosen Cancer Research to donate to in Derek's memory. Unfortunately the side effects caused other problems in Derek's case even though it was working successfully and that is why we feel so strongly to raise for Cancer Research so they can develop more treatments like this and help research on how to avoid such side effects as it is such a successful treatment. Any donation no matter how much will be very much appreciated. Thank you
