My Story
I am taking part in the Race for Life 2021 for a second year running. I am doing it to honour the life of my beautiful mum, Anne who lost her battle to stage 4 Ovarian caner in April 2020 after a courageous battle against it. She fought with everything she had and truly is my hero and my inspiration to push through tough times with a smile on my face. I'm also taking part for myself, after being diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene and learning about my increased risks of breast and Ovarian cancer. My hope is that one day they will find a cure! I'll be taking part while 23 weeks pregnant with my little girl who could inherit the BRCA1 Gene from me so I'm taking part in the hope that one day there will be a cure so I can be around for her and so she doesn't have to know the devastation that cancer can cause. Lastly taking part for all the families that lives are rocked by cancer everyday.
