To raise money for Cancer Research and 5k will be a personal challenge I didn’t think I would have the chance to do.
In memory of
Nan, Auntie Lesley, Rod and Ernie
I have arthritis and after a severe flare 6 years ago, it left me unable to walk without enduring a lot of pain. I have had to use a wheelchair for any distance further than walking in my house. In April last year, I began taking a new medicine that has started to give me back my mobility, albeit slowly but continually improving. I wanted to set myself a challenge while I have this opportunity to push myself after years thinking that something such as Race for Life’s 5k was beyond my capabilities. I chose Race for Life because I wanted to raise money for Cancer Research because I have lost friends and family to cancer.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Help Cancer Research UK improve results even faster.
