Deb's fundraising page

Our story is about my niece Kayleigh and her husband Matt.. I know we all say it about our own but they are such a special hard working little family. Matt’s a proper cool dude who loves music and dances like a black guy (with proper rhythm!). They emigrated to Perth Australia 2 years ago with their son Charlie who was then 3, they both got stuck into jobs to build a sunnier future there and then discovered they were expecting their 2nd baby Madison, who was born last September. After taking a little while to settle in Oz things were looking good and they were loving their new life. But literally within a couple of weeks of the joy that their little girl brought when she was born, Matt at only 32 years old was firstly diagnosed with a brain tumour and then stage 4 cancer that had already spread to several parts of his body. Having had the brain tumour removed in March and ongoing with some new ‘magic’ drugs he has shown the most amazing strength and is fighting like a Trojan for the family that he adores, even for the burly builder that he is. But being a self employed, in a rented house, and with medical bills, their finances are a worry in them self. Although money sponsored through Race for Life goes straight to Cancer Research UK, as a family we are also trying to raise a little for the Sheed family, which you can do through the separate Go Fund Me link.
