My Story
Having recently decided to take up running and improve my general fitness along with two of my friends, we have decided to go one step further and take part in this year's Cancer Research Shine Walk in London! This by no means is going to be easy, 26 miles walking through central London starting at 10.15pm on a Saturday night and could take us up to 11 hours solid walking. (I hope it doesn't rain!) As well as the fitness side of things this walk has inspired me to take part to raise vital funds for cancer research with 100% of my sponsorship money raised going specifically towards vital research into Prostate cancer. This is something which represents something very personal and emotional to me and indeed all my family having lost my very dear, beloved father to Prostate cancer. My Dad was a remarkable man demonstrating to all his beloved family how to tackle this disease head on. My Dad is a huge inspiration to me and someone whom I loved very, very dearly. I would appreciate any sponsorship money towards this challenge. Every penny no matter how small helps and I would like to raise as much money as possible and awareness too for this very worthy cause, but mainly for the true inspiration in my life, my hero, my beloved Dad. Thank you. Love Debbie xxxxxx Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there.
