Dean's London Marathon
Virgin London Marathon 2020
Sun 26 Apr 2020 - Sun 26 Apr 2020
Many families lose loved ones. If I can help one family get past the horror that is cancer I will have achieved a goal.
In memory of
Julie Gunn
In 2011 myself and family lost my mum. Cancer had shook us and knocked us off our feet. For years beforehand I would walk past charity workers in the street, maybe throwing in a few pennies but not paying any real attention to the work these charities were putting in. The experience of a family member fighting cancer opened my eyes to the time, effort and money being pumped into saving a life. In 2012 my friends and family supported us in taking part in Relay for Life, a cancer research event. In the 6 years of taking part we have more than likely raised enough money to save a life and give a family’s loved one a lifetime of memories. At the point of applying for the marathon I have only run in a 5k event (10+ years ago). I would be surprised if I ever walked 26miles in a weekend let alone jogged, walked or crawled it in one day. I’m about to undergo a mammoth challenge in the form of the London Marathon. I ask you all that whilst I put myself through this you lend a little support in the form of a donation, a share of my page or even take the trip up London in April to cheer “Run Fatboy Run”. Thank you all in advance
