My Story
This challenge will be entirely self-funded, ALL donations will go directly to cancer research! Losing my dad, Chris, to lung cancer is the single most difficult thing I've had to experience in life so far. I feel the least I can do now as a mourning son is make what little difference I can, however I can. My goal is to drive from Ardnamurchan Point, Scotland to Ness Point, Lowestoft in as short a time as possible. CHALLENGE RULES: - No speeding: Any instances of 10% +1mph will result in a 5 minute time penalty. This penalty can then be added again after 90 seconds. This will be monitored by my two dash cams. - The timer officially starts when I release my handbrake at Ardnamurchan point. - The timer officially stops when I set foot onto the middle of the Ness Point circle. - Unlimited stops allowed. - Use of the Corran/Ardgour Ferry is allowed. My dad loved long-distance driving, as do I, so to hopefully set quite an impressive time record on what will be the longest and most difficult drive of my life would not only be a personal accomplishment, and of course provide some great content for Dash Cam Hull, but would be another wonderful nod to the memory of my old man. Please only donate whatever you can comfortably spare. Let's help less people lose their family and friends young!

CAUSE
Lung cancer
Each year more than 43,500 people are diagnosed with lung cancer in the UK. We urgently need to drive progress so that more people survive their disease. Cancer Research UK is at the forefront in lung cancer research and is funding various projects to tackle the disease head on. This includes the TRACERx study, Cancer Research UK’s largest investment into lung cancer to date. This study has already transformed our understanding of how lung cancer evolves and is continuing to shed light on how to prevent, detect and treat the disease.
