My Story
As most of my family and friends know I have recently completed treatment for cancer towards the end of last year, this was not the first battle for me but with the support of my loved ones I began fighting with everything I had, even shared chemo days with some very special people (you know who you are). The care I received after diagnosis and during treatment was second to none. The doctors and nurses involved in my care were amazing, care ranged from treatment to crazy conversations with the chemo nurses. I even managed to make a new friend along the way (we had our ops together)the messages from her during and after this time has seen me through some difficult days. I met some other fabulous people who even through their own battles made me smile with their words of kindness and inspirational courage. This race is a goal I could only dream of last year. I am so excited to be able to take part with my lovely bestie Laurie. I will be dedicating this race to all those people who I met during my journey and those who fight this battle everyday. To my own true love this is for you. I am truly grateful you came into my life, thank you for being so strong when I wasn't. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
