My Story
In 2020 my daughter was diagnosed with cancer only days before her 4th birthday. Lydia was taken to theatre so they could investigate the blood blister/lump we found. The doctor's hadn't even sent it off for a biopsy but before Lydia had returned from theatre I was told she had cancer. I had to receive this information on my own cause during covid only one parent was allowed in. Holding back the tears I then had to ring my husband to tell him what I had just been told. We were both heart broken. Within days Lydia had had all her scans, gone back to theatre for a Hickman line put in & started her first chemo. She spent weekends in hospital receiving treatment. Lydia also had stays down London for brachytherapy and other operations. Lydia went through loads during her treatment but always came out smiling. Our little girl is a trooper. She has since rang the bell which we know is all down to the amazing research that cancer research do. We couldn't be any more grateful which is why we are raising money for such an amazing charity.
