My Story

It’s one of those situations that you think will never happen to you, but I’ll never forgot the phone call I received on Tuesday 5th July 2016 from my Dad asking me to call round, or the look on my Mam’s face when I walked in to their house. The last year has been a massive test of strength for my nearest and dearest, watching my lovely mam fight her battle with ovarian cancer. It has made us all evaluate what is important to us as individuals and as a family. I have seen kindness from people we hardly know, and support flood in from all angles, and it reminds you of how many people really care when it counts. You truly are a wonderful bunch! My mam showed nothing but determination to beat cancer, even in her darkest days she smiled and ‘just got on with it’. She is strong, courageous, brave and beautiful, but best of all she is CANCER FREE! I love you Mam – I’m running this race for you! Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
