My Story

Why I’m walking 30 miles for Cancer Research UK 💙 Cancer has affected my family more times than I would ever have wanted it to. Bowel cancer in particular has touched several members of my family, and more recently, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Thankfully, his cancer was found early and has been able to be managed — and I know just how fortunate we are to be able to say that. ❤️ But that’s also one of the reasons this challenge means so much to me. Research helps us understand cancer better. It helps improve treatments, find cancers earlier and give more families the chance to hear the words we were lucky enough to hear — that it was caught early and there are options. So, throughout September, I’m taking on the Walk 30 Miles for Cancer Challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK. My fundraising goal is £150, and my lovely mum has already got me started with the first £20. ❤️ Now I need to find the other £130! If you can spare even a couple of pounds, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation really does add up, and every mile I walk will be for the people in my family who have faced cancer, my dad, and every other family living through it. 30 miles. £150.
