My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. Two years ago I lost my sister at the age of 56 with a brain tumour after fighting breast cancer for over 12 months. This year two weeks after I had retired after working for forty five years I found out I had bowel cancer. Eight weeks ago I was operated on to remove this tumour and I have subsequently been told that I do not need any more treatment since the cancer has not spread to any other organs. You cannot understand the relief this as given me. I will be closely monitored for the next five years. I have decided to participate in the " Race for Life" on the 2nd June 2019. This is the leased thing I can do in this instance. Please give what you can to this cause. I feel so lucky to be still alive.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour.
