My Story
Sophie was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, in December 2017, aged just 27. For 14 months, she bravely fought through chemotherapy and major surgery. Sophie passed away in February 2019 at the Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury, a few weeks after her 29th birthday. Before her diagnosis, Sophie often raised money for Cancer Research and other charities: taking part in the Race for Life, the Midnight Walk and other charity events. We are doing the Race for Life and plan to continue raising funds for Cancer Research and the Severn Hospice in Soph's memory. - Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. - Gift Aid it! If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.
