My Story
In April, I will be running the London Marathon for Cancer Research UK. This is a cause close to my heart after my fiancee Keira was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in November 2022. Seeing a loved one go through a cancer diagnosis and treatment is something nobody should have to endure. However, the way Keira has responded to having a total thyroidectomy and lymph node removal (on top of countless blood tests, biopsies, scans and nervous waits for ongoing test results) has been nothing short of inspirational. 1 in 2 people will develop cancer in their lifetime, and it does not discriminate, it can happen to anyone. Thankfully due to the research carried by charities like Cancer Research UK, the survival rate is improving and has doubled in the last 40 years. Thankfully Keira's prognosis is now looking very positive and in tribute to the tremendous resilience she has shown in the last year, I have decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Cancer Research UK is dedicated to saving lives by supporting research into all aspects of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses. Their pioneering work into prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has helped save millions of lives. Please help me raise money by donating to my page. Any donation will be hugely appreciated as I prepare to run/jog/walk/limp/crawl (delete where appropriate!) around the streets of London in April.
