My Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. After cycling Lands End to John O’Groats in 2016 I thought my sporting events were over … …fast forward to September 2018 after reading a book by the Iron Rookie and a few beers, along with my Brother-in-law Andy Lilley we had registered to take part in the 2019 Outlaw Half Nottingham this May The 2019 Outlaw Half Nottingham is a ‘half ironman’ and ALL we have to do is: 1.2 mile open water swim, 56mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run... one after another on the same day!!!!! I’ll be honest and those who know my ‘it will be fine’ outlook on most things may be shocked to hear that I am not as ‘relaxed’ about this one and it’s only the training plan and words of wisdom from my trainer to the ‘stars’ Andrew Butler and the many texts and conversations me and my partner in crime Andy have that will get me through this and then who knows what could be next!!! A huge thank you has to go to Claire, Natalie and Holly who are putting up with me going swimming, running, to the gym and having to have a conversation with me while I'm on my bike and turbo trainer! Any sponsor is a great sponsor for which I thank you for and throughout the remaining training and the event knowing you guys have donated will keep me going and those who don’t after reading this I hope the guilt gets you and you sponsor me!!!
