My Story
Im doing the Great North Run in honour of my Mum- Joyce Marion McConville who was taken away from a loving family far too soon. This will be my first ever Half Marathon. It all started a week ago in the pub i manage. I pinky promised someone i would run with them. The next morning i told my Daughter Abby about it. She thought i was mad and made me pinky promise my original pinky promise. I woke the next morning and never mentioned a word, hoping Abby would forget. 2 days later on my Birthday i got the best Birthday present ever. James my son and Abby had got their heads together and had applied for The Great North Run on my behalf, the little tinkers 😂👍🏼XX. So the most i have ran since leaving The Army( 30yrs ago) is about 7k that equates to 4.3 miles. And i have to run 13.1 miles in less than 7months. So please donate to my great cause and i promise each and every one of you that i will cross that finish line whatever the cost. Thankyou Dave.
