I’m raising money for Breast Cancer. I was 10yrs old when this disease took away my Mum far too young xx

In memory of

Joyce Marion McConville

15 Dec 1936 - 27 Jan 1978

Im doing the Great North Run in honour of my Mum- Joyce Marion McConville who was taken away from a loving family far too soon. This will be my first ever Half Marathon.
It all started a week ago in the pub i manage. I pinky promised someone i would run with them. The next morning i told my Daughter Abby about it. She thought i was mad and made me pinky promise my original pinky promise. I woke the next morning and never mentioned a word, hoping Abby would forget. 2 days later on my Birthday i got the best Birthday present ever. James my son and Abby had got their heads together and had applied for The Great North Run on my behalf, the little tinkers 😂👍🏼XX.
So the most i have ran since leaving The Army( 30yrs ago) is about 7k that equates to 4.3 miles. And i have to run 13.1 miles in less than 7months.
So please donate to my great cause and i promise each and every one of you that i will cross that finish line whatever the cost.

Breast cancer

With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
