My Story
Probably going to regret this but I’ve decided to take on this 300 mile challenge. Would be nice to raise £150 for Cancer Research but equally it would be great if I could encourage just one person to take up cycling. From a personal point of view, cycling’s been my saviour. Months of suffering (thankfully not the ‘Big C’) swiftly came to an end when I got on my bike and pedalled off into the sunset. It made my world a much better place and I’ve never looked back! At times cycling’s incredibly painful, but at times can be euphoric. To me though it’s all about feeling ‘normal’ again...doesn’t have to feel good, just normal will do for me. My closest friend is currently suffering as well, sadly because a close family member has Cancer. I would hope he will join me on some of my 300 mile slog to hopefully give himself a few moments of ‘normality’ during these trying times. Raising £150 (or a bit more would be nice!) for such a worthy cause feels like a nice ‘normal’ thing to do. At 40+ yrs of age however, in a cold and soggy September, doing 10 miles a day for 30 days feels like it may be something completely different and not ‘normal’ at all! Let’s give it a go though. Cheers!
