i am running therefore i am ...even if it's slow it still counts !
i have been through breast cancer treatment four years ago, had been very lucky as i was diagnosed early and got access to the best possible treatment. my family and friends were as important during the treatment time as the drugs and doctors, i could not have done it otherwise....it is still scary, even when i type this message i am wondering if this is really me who is now the cancer patient...the cancer survivor... the cancer club is one you do not want to belong to, and one of my coping mechanisms during the tough time of chemotherapy and radiotherapy was denial, i simply pretended that i had nothing to do with cancer, i was not " one of them" that this was just a mistake, a brief period of my life that i will have to go through and then it will be back to normal.... well, there is no back to normal...the big C had changed me in so many different ways, and that is natural i guess... so i am accepting that i am in the cancer club, it is a lifelong membership , so i may well make most of it...that is the reason why i am doing the race for life, to do something sensible and tangible and positive to help others who , as me, unwillingly, unexpectedly entered "the C club". i will be grateful for your support and sponsorship, every little bit will make a big difference.
