My Story
Hi all, Thank you for visiting our page and donating. 5 years ago we lost a Husband, Father and soon to be Grandfather, but most importantly, we lost a best friend. On March 22nd 2014 Des passed away after being diagnosed with Renal, lung and bone cancer just 8 weeks before. Those 8 weeks changed our lives individually and as family forever. We had never been emotionally involved with anyone who had suffered with Cancer, and didn't think we ever would be, watching the time ebb away, knowing that each day could be the last was heart breaking. We can't save our special person, but we can help other people, we can try to save those families that are going through what we did, we can try to help save the sufferers of this horrendous disease. The very least we can do is try, but we can't do it alone, we need each and every one of you. Strength in numbers wins. Just 6 months after he passed we hosted the Des French Charity day, a football match was arranged along with games, food, raffles, auctions and music at the Horse and Well, Woodford, and our amazing friends and family took part, donated and supported the day, we decided to make it an annual thing, and 1 by 1 friends and family were there for us, and it's grown bigger and better every year. This will be the 5th annual Des French Charity day and we want to make it the best yet, we know we can count on your continued support and generosity in making it happen. Please help us to help others. Thank you all Much love, The French Family. xx
