My Story
I have cancer. 3 words that can always stop a conversation. I was diagnosed in 2015 with advanced stage non-Hodgkins lymphoma - cancer of the blood. I had chemotherapy for 6 months but it failed. Well - this is a fun read isn’t it! But then I transferred to the Royal Marsden Hospital and started targeted gene therapy. And now I’m in remission. There we are - a happy ending!! But for 1000’s of others there is no happy ending. Cancer still destroys families and whilst massive progress is being made there is still so much more to be done. So, I’m giving something back. Since starting running in 2018 I have lost 5 stone and run the London Marathon. This year I’m running two half marathons and the Brighton Marathon. I do this to remind myself and everyone else that cancer does not define me and is just another of life’s challenges.
