My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This May, I’m doing 100 push-ups a day to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. After losing my Mum at age 17 due to Breast cancer my life changed dramatically, especially being the 2nd of 5 kids (at the time). I found myself having to grow up fast and was thrusted into a world of independence that has inevitably made me the man i am today. I knew at the time my Dad had and would have a lot on his plate moving forward, so i had to embrace the new level of independence as maturely as i could whilst being able to support myself through education and life, trying to be the best support i could have been for my Dad and siblings. But losing such an important and valued figured in the home like a MUM, is never easy to adjust to and takes time. Although i am grateful for the experience that has developed and strengthen me, i would never wish for anyone to lose their Mum to such circumstances and go through what families have to the world over. Another bitter pill to swallow and another reason why i take on this challenge is for my late dear and close Friend Dammy, who sadly passed away due to Bowel Cancer at only age 30. We went school together, played in the school football team together, became closer outside of school and so did our families. Dammy was one of my closest friends and what hurt me even more is the fact that he was fit as a fiddle, never smoked or drank and was an active guy, which made it even worse to accept and then see him become a patient in the very same hospital he was a Doctor in, after all those years of studying abroad to become One. This is a cause i have always strongly believed in and supported, so please show your support and help fund life-saving research by making a donation to my page.
