Shine Night Walk London 2025 - Full Marathon

Sat 20 Sep 2025 - Sat 20 Sep 2025

My Story

In September 2005 I lost my big sister to Cervical Cancer, she was aged just 31 and her daughter was only 1 years old. Over the years following her death it was a struggle to get through the days and months without bursting into tears. I had an inner anger that emerged almost as frequently as my urge to run away and hide from everyone. I felt cheated of a life with my sister and I hated the fact that life just seemed to carry on. Later in years my father developed Prostate cancer and then Bowel cancer so now nearly 20 years on I am so passionate about finding a cure for cancer and raising as much money as possible to help fund the continued and valuable research that Cancer Research UK does so that other families don’t have to go through what we have. Over the years I have raised money for CRUK completing the London Marathon twice, many half marathons and Race for Life across the country. This time I’ll be doing the Marathon Shine night walk, having previously completed it I know what’s in store and it’s a real challenge both physically and mentally. Please give as little or as much as you feel you can. Thank you
