Daisy's Race for Life at Home

I decided to start fundraising for cancer research as experiencing a close family member of mine deal with the battle has affected our family in the worst way. I would love to help other cancer patients and their families in anyway I possibly can, to get the help and support they need to keep going on! The person I decided to do this for would like to remain anonymous. 5 years ago they were diagnosed with bowel cancer, which after many scans had spread to the lung. After many operations, constant chemotherapy and cyberknife on the lung. They were then given the all clear. Sadly Cancer continues to always fight and came back with a vengeance. Years later they were diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that is incurable. The cancer was very aggressive causing one lung to collapse. They are having ongoing chemotherapy that never ends... recently we found out that the cancer has spread to the brain which needed 5 rounds of radiotherapy to the head to make the tumour shrink. This is causing hair loss... Safe to say this person hasn’t had the easiest battle, yet they are being brave, so so strong and they keep on going! As the race for life was cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation, they started a home version with many options. I’ve chosen to take part in a 10 day challenge, which I’ve asked the person I’m doing this for to give me the challenges required. Everyday they will give me a different challenge to complete, which will be exercise related but with a fun twist! My target is low just so I don’t get my hopes high to raise lots of money! But I hope some of you will donate. You don’t understand the effects this disease has on people and their families! Let’s help as much as we can!
