My Story
In 2020, my dad received a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and the prognosis was devastating —he was given only weeks, perhaps months, to live, with blood transfusions as the sole treatment option. Tragically, we lost him in May 2020, and this devastating news turned my family's life upside down. Then, in July, my sister was diagnosed with melanoma on her leg, which was successfully treated and removed. By October, my mum faced her own battle, being diagnosed with cancer affecting her bowel, liver, and lungs. Thanks to the incredible care from our NHS, all three cancers were successfully treated. We found hope and positivity through the treatments, and my mother showed immense strength, tackling both the emotional and physical challenges.
