My Story

THANKS FOR VISITING MY FUNDRAISING PAGE. I want to raise as much money as possible to help this charity continue it's important work. I, like many of you reading this, have lost too many close relatives and friends due to cancer. The funds are needed to help make sure that we can save as many as possible. And indeed, lets not forget about the many survivors of cancer! It is because of the generosity of the public, that many of those survivors are here now to remind us of the great work that Cancer Research is doing. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Please donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. MY CHALLENGE I’m going to walk at least 154 miles throughout May to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. Please show your support and help fund life-saving research by donating to my page. Years ago (2015 in fact) I started walking the South West Coast Path - an epic 630 mile trek from Minehead in North Somerset to Poole in Dorset. Initially, it was just a few days to see how I got on but I got well and truly hooked. I've been back every year since and 'ticked off' between 70 and 85 miles each time. Now I'm finding the hilly walking more difficult each year so I decided to push the boat out and finish the last 154 miles in less than a month. When I heard about the "Cancer Research - Walk 100 Miles in May" campaign I started thinking about the loved ones our family has lost to cancer over the years. My mother died of cervical cancer in 1994 aged 66; just two years later, my younger sister died at just 39 years old. In 2020, during Covid, my older brother also died from cancer of the kidney aged just 71. So, I decided to seize the opportunity and help raise some of the much needed money for this amazing charity. So now, I'm fully committed to not only completing this challenge, but exceeding it by as much as I can. I truly hope you will see this as an admirable challenge for a very worthy cause. If so, I thank you for your thoughts and support; but please go a step further and donate to my fund now to help me reach and exceed my target of £1000. Just as important, please share my page on your social media and lets make this viral!! Thank you for all of your help!
