Cynthia and Arlyn's Prudential Ride Fund Raising

Welcome to our fundraising page for the Prudential London bike ride. On 4th August 2019, we will be cycling 100 miles through the Surrey Hills and around London, raising money for Cancer Research UK. Many people around the world can relate to losing someone from cancer. We have both experienced this within our families and friends, and know the feeling of powerlessness that descends on diagnosis. In July 2018, Cynthia's aunt Belinda passed away having been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer two months previously. Sadly, the disease was too far progressed to be fought. Belinda was an incredibly strong woman, relentless in her independence and in her love of beautiful things, however insignificant they may have seemed to others. Arlyn’s grandad Ruben developed Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) cancer. Albeit undertaking numerous tests and examinations, his diagnose came only a week before he passed away; this closed the window to getting timely treatment. Ruben lived a very happy life. He was a passionate man full of energy for any venture he’d pursue. He was always kind, considerate and generous with everyone around him. We are raising money for Cancer Research as our personal way of honouring Belinda and Ruben. One day, a cancer diagnosis may not be met with as much fear as it is now, and with your help, we want to bring this day a little closer. Thank you for your support, Arlyn and Cynthia
