The Whisky Jar - Sat, March 19th fundraising event

Thank you for visiting this fundraising page in memory of my mum Pauline. As those close to my family know my mum sadly died last year around 18 months after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Mum loved life and following her diagnosis we wouldn’t have shared the precious time together we did without funding for cancer research. Where possible, I’ve been trying to fundraise for Cancer Research UK to help support the valuable work they do. Last winter, I took on the Manchester Half Marathon and I’m incredibly grateful for the generosity of so many who sponsored me. This time, I thought it would be good to get as many of mum’s loved ones together as possible for a big charity event which I hope will be a celebration of her life. So, on Saturday, March 19th from 6pm we’ll be holding our fundraiser at The Whisky Jar in Manchester city centre. There will be live music, DJs as well as an auction and raffle raising money for the charity. There will also be a cake sale for those with a sweet tooth. The way I see it, mum loved going to town with her friends and having a dance so it felt like a fitting thing to do. I'm hoping it'll be a fun night out which will support a good cause. On the night, entry will be £10 (which can be paid in advance through this page) which will give those attending three tickets for the raffle with some of the prizes on offer including: Two tickets for Neighbourhood Festival - Courteeners, Blossoms and Kasabian performing Two passes to take on The Cube Live experience in Manchester Two VIP passes for The Big 80s Festival - Sister Sledge, Sonia, Martin Kemp performing £100 Roxy Lanes voucher Two tickets for Tears for Fears at Leeds First Direct Arena Football tickets for Preston, Huddersfield Town, Rochdale and more Other raffle prizes include signed celeb memorabilia, a huge Easter chocolate hamper, tickets to watch Lancashire Cricket Club and I’m currently working to get more so I’ll share a full list nearer the event. Raffle tickets will also be on sale for £2 each or three for £5. Obviously, it would be great for as many people as possible to attend, but if you can’t, and would like to donate I’ll make sure those who donate are assigned raffle tickets.
