I’m raising as much as I can to beat cancer
My Story
Over a third of all people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. For some, it may be a case of simply having a skin lesion removed, but for others, the treatment can be long and arduous. I am sure that every one of us has either lost a loved one to cancer, or knows someone who has fought the disease. Some of you may even have successfully fought it yourselves. Some members of Coventry University's School of Humanities have had the ill-fortune to experience cancer. To honour their bravery, and in the hope that in future treatment regimes can become less arduous, some of the School's staff members are walking the Coventry Way, a 40 mile walk around the perimeter of the city, on Sunday 8th April this year. Among those taking part are Benet Vincent, Simon Smith, Caroline Parkinson, Elizabeth Benjamin and myself. If you'd like to consider contributing a little towards this very good cause, we'd be extremely grateful. Alternatively, I think we still need someone to join our relay team for a five mile leg of the journey! We're covering all our expenses for this so every penny you can spare will go straight to Cancer Research.

CAUSE
Developing better treatments
From testing new therapies to finding better ways of using existing therapies, our clinical trials have helped improve cancer treatment. But these treatments don’t work for everyone and can have short- and long-term side effects. With your support, we can find kinder, more effective treatments so that people can live longer, better lives.
