My Story

Please join us on Saturday 30 September for a very special evening of entertainment, celebration and song, in aid of Cancer Research UK. In 2013, four workplace choirs – Birmingham City Council Choir, Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service Choir, Citi Choir and Sound Waves Choir (formerly P&O Ferries Choir) – were brought together for the second series of Gareth Malone’s hit BBC2 show The Choir: Sing While You Work. Ten years later, the choirs are still going strong and are coming together again to celebrate with this special charity concert. Venue: St Giles Cripplegate Church, Fore Street, London EC2Y 8DA Date: 30 September 2023 Time: 6.30pm (doors open 6pm) To buy your ticket for the event please go to www.ticketsource.co.uk/singwhileyouwork (you can use the QR code in the gallery below) Tickets for the concert are only £10, and you can add an optional charity donation. We would be most grateful for your support for the charity! You can also make a charity donation via this page.

CAUSE

Epic Dive

Citi colleagues voted to raise funds for the Epic Dive project in 2024, helping researchers find new ways to detect pancreatic cancer earlier. In England, just 8% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive their disease for 5 years or more. Often, this is because it’s diagnosed too late, when the cancer has already spread and treatment options are limited. The EPIC DIVE team aims to find new ways to capture and amplify chemical signals given off by pancreatic cancer into the blood. If successful, this research could lead to new tests that help diagnose cancer at an early stage, when the chances of successful treatment are highest, saving lives.
