So I find myself embarking on a full marathon with the finest teenage girls I know. Cancer has touched the lives of Lilia’s friends in the most painful way. Melissa sadly lost her mum at just 39 years old to bowel cancer. On the 2nd anniversary of losing her fight is the day of the shine night walk and Keiras mum currently is having chemo and battling to beat this terrible disease. The girls are training hard ready to walk into the night together and raise money to aid research to find a cure. These girls are only 13 years old and are the most incredible, determined and inspirational people I know. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives.
