Clare's Race for Life
Peak District Hike 2018
Sat 8 Sep 2018
I'm taking on a Race for Life Hike to give something back for the wonderful care I received.
Personally, 2017 was a year of very mixed emotions. Some of the treatment I had to endure to treat breast cancer wasn’t pleasant and it’s hard to believe that this time last year I was nearing the end of my chemotherapy. I’m now feeling fit and well. The wonderful support and care I received from all directions, including doctors, nurses, friends and family helped me cope and power through. I mentioned one day, to a wonderful friend of mine, that I wanted to do an event to give something back. This how I now find myself heading to the Peak District on 8th September to face a 26-mile hike for Race for Life, together with a handful of my walking/running/cycling friends. It is now only just dawning on us that this will be a 9-10 hour hike (and those hills are not to be underestimated). Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer. If you do have any pennies to spare and would like to sponsor us, the link to the Race for Life sponsorship page is below. Your support is very much appreciated for an extremely worthwhile cause. With love, Clare x
