My Story

I’ve officially signed myself up for a challenge this May… and no, it’s not running. Let’s be honest—if it involves running, I’m simply not interested. 🚫🏃‍♀️ So instead, I’ve chosen something far more “me”… swimming 10km for Cancer Research. Now before you picture me gliding effortlessly through the water like an Olympic swimmer—please lower your expectations. This will be less graceful dolphin and more determined woman trying not to swallow half the pool while questioning her life choices. I’m doing this because cancer affects so many people. Like most of us, I’ve seen the impact it has on lives and families, and anything that helps bring more research, more support, and more hope is something worth pushing myself for. 10km might not sound huge to some, but for me (someone who chose this purely to avoid running), it’s going to take consistency, discipline, and a lot of “just one more length” conversations with myself. There will be days I don’t feel like it. Days I want to get out early. And definitely moments mid-swim where I think, “Why did I sign up for this?!” But I’ll keep going—because this is bigger than me being slightly dramatic in a swimming pool.
